Christmas with a difference

Children of jailed offenders will be treated to a group Christmas dinner this year.
It will be the first time the Auckland chapter of the New Zealand Prison Fellowship has organised a big Christmas dinner for children whose parents are in prison.
Auckland co-ordinator Kim Jones told the Herald on Sunday: "It's going to be a wonderful, respectful, joyful and fun event for children who have grown up in tough environments. A lot of these kids end up in gangs or in care, but with help of this nature they could become faithful and useful citizens."

The Arts Menagerie can help make a difference simply by doing the things we do well.
Anyone who is interested in helping make thiis a special event will need to fill in a Volunteer Form with referalls and will also to have a Police background check. All forms need to be in by the 3rd December. If you aren`t sure you can make it fill in the forms just in case you can.
Its going to be a fun night

    Dear Volunteers

Thank you very much for offering to volunteer at the Christmas Meal. As we are only 1 week away from the meal, we are asking you to attend a volunteer meeting this week.

    Date: Wednesday 18th December
    Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Where: Christian Ministry Centre, 297A Church Street, Penrose,

RSVP: Please RSVP via email by Tuesday 17th December.

We also have one other request that we hope you can assist with. We are in need of some crèche/playgroup toys to lend for the evening. If you are able to borrow some toys from your churches/community playgroups we would really appreciate that. It would be your responsibility to bring them along and return them again. If you are able to help with this request, please let me know when you RSVP.

Looking forward to meeting you all.
    Kind Regards

Hi, I have just known about this event today and it seems that I am late for the volunteer form. I also have to work on Friday night but I'm wondering if there is anything I can help. I really want to help the kids and I can paint.
