SUPREME COURT AT THE CROSSROADS: How the Presidential Election Affects the Future of Church/State Separation

The president who appoints the next justice to the Court determines our future for decades.

Please join the San Diego Chapter of Americans United in welcoming prominent Constitutional lawyer and political activist Edward "Eddie" Tabash. He will speak to us about the upcoming election, and how the outcome will affect the future of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Just one vote on the Court could nullify 65 years of solid legal precedent establishing that nonbelievers be equal before the law. In this presentation, Mr. Tabash will provide specific quotes from Supreme Court justices to show the open hostility to non-believers and even religious dissenters.

About Eddie Tabash

Eddie Tabash is a constitutional lawyer in Beverly Hills. He chairs the Legal Committee, nationwide, of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. In addition to serving on the Americans United Board of Trustees, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Inquiry and the Council for Secular Humanism. He is also a life member of the American Humanist Association and American Atheists. He has represented Americans United and the Center for Inquiry in amicus briefs before the California and United States Supreme Courts in separation of church and state cases.

Eddie is the son of an Orthodox rabbi and an Auschwitz-surviving mother.

I am probably going to have a little trouble getting there, because cannot drive highways. Anyone who can give me a ride from Mission Valley, downtown, or Hillcrest? I will pay for gas. I'd really like to go, but traffic will probablly be bad on the return trip, and I've never been out there.
