Yes, just moved here in March 2014.
Heavier, I guess, but not leaden! Definitely want to be challenged, emotionally engaged and intrigued and to read material with some complexity and depth.
Hard to pick just one--off the top of my head, at various points it's probably been a tie between Haruki Murakami, Henry James, Andre Dubus (senior) and Alice Munro
Literary fiction (short stories and novels) and personal essay/memoir; intelligent nonfiction. Wouldn't mind some smart, provocative, educational reading on history, politics, finance and world affairs
At the risk of evoking the non-bibliophilic Sarah Palin, let me think on that and get back to you?!
I'm an editor/writer and majored in literature but, since I technically read all day for a living, need a little incentive to get with "the good stuff" (material of substance) at the end of the day! And I'd love to find people to talk books with.
