Subject: [austin-contemporary-fiction-bookclub] Meeting Venue

We have, for some time, been using the Maiko Sushi Lounge on 6th Street Downtown as our primary venue. Some members have suggested they would prefer another venue mainly because of the parking issues Downtown.

I did mention this issue in my January 26th note regarding our next meeting and some of you have been kind enough to offer some alternative suggestions.

Inevitably, if we move away from Downtown, we are likely to move either northward or southward. Most of the venues that have been suggested tend to the north rather than the south. They include Cafe Express (3418 N Lamar), Monkeys Nest (5353 Burnet) and Le Madeleine (various locations but the Arboretum has been mentioned).

Most of the suggested venues can offer us a private room which I think might be preferable to our current arrangement.

I would be grateful for any and all input on as I don't want to change the venue only to find that this would cause some of you problems.

If I don't hear anything to the contrary in the next week, I will talk to the Cafe Express on Lamar which has received more positive suggestions than any other venue.

Many thanks
