Lake Georgetown - Kiddie Kamp

Join us for a one night kid-centric camping trip at Lake Georgetown. This is a great opportunity to let your kids have all the outdoor fun their little hearts desire without straying too far from home.

This trip will be geared toward fun times for younger children. Our target age group is 2-5 years old. Older kids are welcome as long as they play well with small children.

We'll be staying at Tejas Camp, which offers plenty of shade and grassy fields for safe play. The campground has direct access to hiking trails and the San Gabriel River, but we'll be secluded enough to not worry about the little ones getting to the water on their own. The campground has a large open field perfect for flying a kite, playing tag or just running around.

There are no scheduled activities. I plan on mostly staying around camp and the river Saturday evening and doing a short hike Sunday morning. If anyone would like to plan age appropriate games or other activities, please feel free.

I will be arriving about 3pm Saturday. For anyone who arrives earlier, I've reserved sites 6, 7 & 8.

FOOD PLANNING: I tend to keep it simple and will bring hot dogs & s'mores for Saturday night. Eggs, sausage, fruit and OJ for Sunday morning. I'll have plenty to share, but probably not enough to feed everyone. Be sure to bring your own food and drinks. Feel free to start a discussion if you would like to plan a bigger group meal.

CAMPSITE FEE: $2/person (all ages), payable to me upon arrival. Be sure to count your kids as guests when making your RSVP.

ENTRANCE FEE: None.

PARKING: Limit 2 vehicles per site, 6 total for us. $5 per extra vehicle. Car pooling is encouraged.

SHOWERS/TOILETS: Composting toilets are located in the area. No showers.

KID FRIENDLY: Yes. Please review the camping with kids policy.

DOG FRIENDLY: Yes. Pets must be attended and on a six-foot leash at all times. Pets are not allowed in any park buildings, cabins, or shelters. Please read our policy on camping with dogs.

RV CAMPING: No.

FIREWOOD: Gathering of firewood is prohibited. Please bring firewood.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Public consumption or display of an alcoholic beverage is prohibited. This is a kid-friendly camping trip. Please be respectful and drink responsibly.

OTHER RULES: Glass containers and fireworks are prohibited.

DIRECTIONS: From I-35, take Williams Drive west, then turn south on Farm to Market Rd 3405. Turn east on County Rd 258 and continue across the North San Gabriel River. Turn left into Tejas Park. Google map.

I'm bringing quite a bit of firewood, but if everyone can bring a bundle that would be good.

I got my bundle for $2 at Home Depot. They had to dig it out of the back.

Bringing a very kid-friendly dog and one 9 year old kiddo. She'll probably be the oldest but she likes it that way. ;) Looking forward to it!

Great idea! If space 5 or 9 is available, we will reserve that for overflow, but still pay the $2 per person.

Spaces 7 & 8 are together and 6 only has a few trees separating it. This will accommodate 24 people and I doubt we'll need more unless there is an unusual surge of RSVPs this week.

How old are the kids that are going? I have a 5 year old and was wondering if other 5 year olds are attending.
