I live in Dallas am retired and learning Aquaponics as a way to feed my family better quality food. Would like to see small (i.e. home) commercial viability proven.
I am building 2 small Aquaponic systems in my back yard to learn. One is based on Friendly Aquaponic's Micro System 64 with 2 4'x8' troughs The other is based on Murray Hallum's fill and drain IBC system. You can see my blog and pictures at http://aquaponicfun.com
Sure, would be glad to share as a scheduled group visit.
Bob, I have just discovered your group website and would like to attend the meeting on 9-21. I filled out the questionaire but do not have a Facebook account and cannot post picture. Can you help me? Thanks. Allen Huffhines
If you would like a free copy of a Preliminary Resource document (17 pages) for a handout to all Meet-Up members interested in aquaponics, send me an email address that receives attachments.
Also, a bit of trivia. That new invention called a Bell Siphon is only 2,500 years old. For the first use of the siphon, check the Web for The Pythagorean Cup. Wikipedia has interesting history.
Thanks for the welcome, Bob! Look forward to learning more about Aquaponics. It seems to be more and more important to have a controlled environment for growing food--from aerial spraying to water issues. We'll have an open house once we get set up.
Do you think there will be enough to have the tour, or do you think we ought to reschedule for Spring?
Thanks for joining and looking forward to seeing your aquaponic setup
