Celtic movie night - love/hate

So the "movie" is actually an Irish television crime drama series. We will show the first episode. Maybe two if people are into it. Warning, this is not kid friendly. It's reported to be quite violent as well. It has rave reviews in Ireland where they are going into the fourth season, however. So we figured we would give it a try. If there are no takers, we will change to a different movie.

Thanks for the warning about violence. Not my cup of tea.

From the Wikipedia article: "The programme has, however, attracted criticism regarding the effect its graphic and explicit portrayals of rape have had on those who have themselves been raped." That was not in what we watched, but I really have no desire to see that either.

quick question - which part of town are you in? Love to come, but don't want to go too far outside my 'bubble'. I know it's weird. Thanks!!

      North. Just north of Braker.

Watched a few episodes while at home in Dublin over Christmas. I think they were trying to make something "interestingly" violent, like Breaking Bad, but quite honestly it's just depressing as hell, with a lot of profanity and violence and doesn't have the writing or style of BB. I found almost nothing to make me want to watch more, but maybe that's just because I grew up in Dublin where it's set and I don't want to see that kind of "realism" (if that's what it is, and not just gratuitous violence). If you've never been to Dublin, do NOT believe that this is Dublin life today. It is not.
