Re: [Austin-Celtic] Emerald Restaurant is back at it again...

A couple of warnings about this so you won't be surprised.... the gratuity is expected to cover the full cost of the meal before the coupon. Since this meal normally goes for $175, be aware your gratuity should at a minimum be around $30 -- and that is if you don't add any drinks or appetizers.

I throughly enjoyed the food as well, and would go back (and might with this groupon again). But don't be in any hurry.... our dinner lasted about 4 hours! Granted we had a large group of about 12, and this included all 5 courses listed below.

For those of you that missed the lovely dining experience at the Emerald last time we went, Groupon has another deal from them.

$59 for two people. So split that in half and you get this deal at about $30/person. The meal includes:

  • Two potato or onion soups
  • Two house salads and Irish-style soda bread
  • Two chateaubriand beef tenderloin dinners with madeira mushroom sauce and roasted onions
  • Fresh garden vegetables
  • Irish-whiskey cake for two

The groupon says that they will make substitutions for vegetarians and those requesting gluten free items but I would call them to double check. You have until March 28m 2012 to use the groupon but you must buy it within 2 days. Here is the purchase link:

As of right now, there is no official meetup event for this. I am not sure if I will be purchasing another ticket. It was the best food I've ever eaten so it's definitely worth it but I'm not sure if I will be able to use it between now and March. However, if anyone else wants to get a group of people together to go, feel free!
