Knitting for a Cause: The Linus Connection

If you've wanted to start knitting again, but haven't had anyone to knit for, join us this week as special guest Stephanie Sabatini joins us! Not only is she a local Steiner resident, but also the Executive Director of The Linus Connection, a local organization whose mission is to make and deliver handmade security blankets for children in crisis situations in our area. The blankets go to children in hospital emergency rooms, in crisis centers, in foster care, battered women's shelters, to any child who is in need of a little extra security in their lives. The Linus Connection accepts blankets that are quilted, knitted or crocheted, and they gave out 4628 blankets just in 2013 alone. Many of the recipients live in poverty.

So bring your current projects or come start a new one! We are going to start meeting weekly now, still on Wednesdays at Cups and Cones. We have pulled in the time too, now from 7:30-9:00pm.

Hope to see you there!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
