Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My grandmother taught me to knit and crochet back in the 70's. I didn't pick it up again until 4 years ago.

What's your favorite fiber?

Even though I learned to knit years ago, I feel that I am a beginner. So I don't know enough about the different fibers to know what my favorite would be.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

Probably one large blanket for covering from the sun during the day as a covering for cool nights.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I hope a lifelong passion. When I am not knitting I think about knitting.

Introduction

My husband and I moved to Austin 2 years ago from Boulder, Co via a year in Chicago. He just started a green energy company and I work for Edward Jones. We are loving Austin and trying to get used to the heat.

What Deb A. is saying about this Meetup Group

This was my first time attending this group. They were friendly and inviting. I enjoyed my time with the ladies and look forward to next week.
