Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My grandmother taught me some basics when I was a kid. She was a righty and I'm a lefty, so my stuff was pretty messed up for a long time until I figured things out on my own. I only knit a few small projects a year, so I have a lot to learn.

What's your favorite fiber?

I don't know anything about yarns, except how soft they are and what colors I like!

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

Maybe a finely-knit, long hooded vest and matching cow-neck sweater?

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

Well, I keep going back to it, and would eventually like to design some patterns, so I think I'll keep going.

Introduction

Hi! I'm a casual knitter, mostly when I'm between work or volunteer projects and while watching TV. Lately I've started paying more attention to all the colors, varieties of yarns, and creative possibilities and want to learn more.
