Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

I do not knit or crochet--I've tried to learn and hopeless was the nicest comment I've heard about my abilities. I cross stitch and have happily worked in proximity to a crocheter for several years. Unfortunately for me, she is about to have an infant, so I need to find new companions. The other cross stitchers I've tried to make friends with tend to be old ladies or solitary sorts--maybe I'm just a crocheter on the inside and hopelessly incapable of anything more complicated than the embroidery version of paint by numbers on the outside? I've been cross stitching since I was old enough to change the lettering on those cheap little kits from hobby lobby and make them say bad things. My first was a bouquet of flowers that said "boogers" underneath it when I was in the 3rd grade. I am HILARIOUS.

What's your favorite fiber?

All of it.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A very poorly constructed raft that cannot float, so basically a wad of sadness and despair that is very soft and is like arms lovingly wrapped around my stranded body.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I've been stitching since forever so...yeah.

Introduction

I am an awesome lady who is looking for more awesome people to stitch and bitch with.
