Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My mother taught me to knit the "German" (now called continental )way when I was about 10 years old (more than 50 years ago). I rediscovered knitting when I was in college. I taught myself how to crochet in my twenties.

What's your favorite fiber?

wool, alpaca are my favorites

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

Probably a light lacy shawl.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

Life long passion!

Introduction

I have been knitting and crocheting for many years. I enjoy both crafts. I've taken several classes since I moved to Austin. I'd enjoy an opportunity to meet with other crafters to share information, projects, etc.
