Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

Knitting didn't stick right away so I was taught and re-taught by 2 friends, my mom, and youtube. The first time I learned was 6 years ago...

What's your favorite fiber?

depends what i'm making... i generally go with wool as i am usually making things to keep one warm (hat, scarves, etc).

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

something elaborate that took a lot of time.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I'm in to knitting pretty hard. especially since I recently acquired an expensive set of needles. I do experiences lulls, which I'm hoping to alleviate with the company of other crafters.

I just moved to Austin from Portland, Oregon about a week ago. I was in a knitting group in Portland that I loved. I am a nurse by profession. Other activities I enjoy include hiking, biking, reading, and cooking.
