Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

I learned knitting from Debbie Stoller's book Stitch 'n Bitch in 2005, with some help from knittinghelp.com. I learned crochet from the Japanese translated book Lacy Crochet about a month ago (May 2009).

What's your favorite fiber?

ALPACA. I am dumb for alpaca.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

I would make the biggest square of soft fluffy blanket cuddly goodness ever. I'd probably end up giving it a knitted on lace border.

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

The fiber's not going away. I started knitting in 2005 and started spinning this past spring. I started crocheting a month or so ago, and I just finished collecting a beginning dying set-up from the old Savers. : )

In which part of Austin do you live? (N, NW, Central, S, SW, Lakeway, Cedar Park, etc.)

No answer yet

Introduction

I love knitting, but have starting SPINNING too, and it's eating up my knitting time! If I have a designated time and place to go to KNIT then i'll get some projects off my needles! Plus, I love listening to stories while I knit or crochet!
