Who taught you how to knit/crochet and how long have you been doing it?

My great-grandmother taught me the basic pearl stitch when I was a child, but I didn't stick with it and it wasn't until my mother started crocheting and then taught me that I really became interested in this craft. I've now been crocheting since October 2012.

What's your favorite fiber?

I feel that I'm still too new to yarn to have a favorite, but I have been working with synthetic blends and wool for the most part.

If you were stranded on a deserted island with loads of cashmere and rosewood needles (or hooks), what would you make?

A giant blanket that said, "HELP!".

For you, does knitting/crocheting seem like it's going to be a passing fancy or a lifelong passion? (Hint: If you've been doing it for more than 3 years, I think we already have your answer.) :)

I'm hoping it is lifelong passion. There seems to be no greater an activity to wind down to at the end of the day than by working on a project or learning new patterns! I still have a lot to learn, though.

I'm new to Austin and still fairly new to crochet. I don't knit much, but have completed a few crochet projects and would like to get to know people who also enjoy this craft. I hope to improve my work through the help of others.
