I've never used github. Down with open source ;-) Not being facetious ;-)

We will be splitting up into multiple teams. People of all skill level will be welcome. Please bring a laptop that you can work on. If you have a spare bring it also ( in case people forget ). If you plan on being on a "dev" team bring a laptop that is ready to go! One of the teams will likely be a help people get their stuff setup, but we will need SOME people to be prepared! I do ask that you try to familiarize yourself with github if you are not already. Please try to have at least PHP 5.3.10+ or a newer release installed. Pen and paper will also be handy!

Don't have an idea for what you want to hack on? Here's a suggestion.

1.) Find a project you really like on github.
2.) Browse the list of open issues.
3.) Send in a pull request.

If you're afraid of possibly looking like a dummy; look at ways you can contribute by improving the documentation. It's an easy way to contribute to a project if you're not up to speed on the code base or their coding standards.

I probably won't make this Meetup. But I'm wondering if anyone here has experience building APK files, not using Eclipse or Phonegap. Like a basic "Hello World" for Android written in Python, how would you build the APK? (I'm using Linux.)

November is usually a smaller group and I liked doing this format last year.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
