Josh Butts will be giving a talk on building search engines with Sphinx and PHP. We will cover indexing content from your database, simple text searches, and creating faceted navigation. This is an intermediate level talk with more code than slides.

Andrew Yahin will be giving a shorter talk on localization and why it is important.  He has done some research on the topic and also has real world examples. If you ever wondered how to decide on what languages are good for localization this topic is for you!

If Andrew ever arrives at an explanation for why the stats for the Japanese site were so different, I'm curious to hear what it is.

I had no idea Sphinx was out there and am already thinking of where I can use it - thanks for the presentation!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
