Gordy loves just about anything, but he really loves Checkups and Dentastix. He only gets to eat his dog food and treats for his teeth, but every one in a while I give him treats for tricks. He also loves carrots, like most other pugs.
A family member had him from when he was a puppy and realized that she did not have the time or energy to take care of him, so we adopted him.
We keep a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs to keep Gordy out of the rooms upstairs while we are gone during the day. One morning, I came down the stairs quickly and I tripped and fell down the stairs, hitting the baby gate and causing it it fall. I was fine, but a little shaken up...the next thing I know, Gordy has run up the stairs and turns to look at me when he got to the top and started barking at me, like he was laughing at me! It was almost like he was saying, "I'm upstairs!" It was immediately funny - he's got the best personality!
Hello! My name is Mindy and I am a teacher here in Austin. I am married and my 11-year-old stepson lives with us. We "inherited" our pug, Gordy, about three years ago and he has won over all of our hearts! He brings so much joy to our home!
