Hi Pug Clubbers,
It seems like Pug Rescue of Austin can't catch a break. Seriously.
A pug was surrendered to Pug Rescue of Austin today after ingesting glass beads, sea shells and some kind of string. The pug is in bad shape and since it is Saturday, and no surgeons are in at Westlake Animal Hospital, the pug is off to the Emergency Clinic for some life-saving surgery.
Mola is a beautiful black pug with a penchant for eating things he shouldn't and, according to my most recent text message, will cost pug rescue about $2500-$4000 to get his system cleaned out. They don't know how much damage has been done to his intestines, thus the range on the surgery costs.
Why am I telling you this and what does this have to do with Valentine's Day? Well, Pug Rescue is putting on a very cool event on V-Day down at Max's Wine Dive Underground and there are still tickets available for it. The event catering is paid for and every single ticket we sell at this point goes 100% to Pug Rescue. We need to sell 40-70 additional tickets for the gala to cover the low to high range on Mola's surgery.
This event is going to be awesome. You can go solo, with a date, with a friend, with a stranger- it doesn't matter because you are going to be surrounded with cool people who love Austin, love good food, and love a good cause. And a lot of them love their dogs. Already have a ticket? Maybe buy another for a friend! Or buy additional tickets and I will arrange a way to give them away via the pug club!
Come out, make some new friends, help Pug Rescue raise a whole lotta money. Tickets are available here: http://www.austinpugrescue.com/ (just a heads up, this site runs in flash so your iphone won't run it properly)
I hope to see you there!
