Softball Practice

We are practicing at Ramsey Park this week instead of Havins!

We begin around 1pm, although feel free to show up late. We continue until people want to stop. Feel free to leave whenever you like. I recommend wearing sunscreen and bringing water. You don't *need* to bring any equipment, but I recommend you bring a fielding glove, as we have limited extras and they may not fit you well. You may also want to bring batting gloves to prevent blisters. Cleats are not needed, but they will help you avoid slipping. We have several bats, but you are welcome to bring your own. We have plenty of softballs.

Practice typically consists of some combination of fungo (Someone hits a ball to each person in turn. That person fields the ball and throws it back in), batting practice (each person gets a set number of hits), and scrimmage (very informal -- no score kept, no walks, no strikeouts).

Feel free to show up late or leave early. We practice until there aren't enough folks left who want to stick around.

Friendly people only! There is some good natured trash talk at practice, but it's all in good fun and everyone has a good time. No negative or rude people! People of all skill levels are welcome, and both men and women are welcome.

This is the same as the Facebook group of the same name (which I highly recommend you join).

Don't let the number of RSVPs on here fool you (or on Facebook, if you are on there). Folks show up every week who don't RSVP. We never have to cancel practice due to lack of people.

The meetup is free, but donations are VERY appreciated.  It costs around $150 per year to keep the group open.  You can donate using Paypal from a link on the meetup group home page, or you can give Mitch cash or check at practice.

Just another quick question (sorry for so many of them :-)) which how do we find the group on Ramsey field? is there only one baseball field there?

Yeah, Ramsey is much easier than Havins. Just one field. :)

Hi Mitch, last time we went to the field, none of the people were there. We waited a long time and no one showed up. We wrote on this page and also on facebook inquiring what was happening, we received no response. Even till today no one has responded to any requests, inquiries or questions that have been asked on face book page or here. So I just want to make sure that this is a real group....
Last time, we landed up just joining another team who thankfully allowed us to play with them.

Sorry, I must have missed your posts. Last week we moved to a different location -- I posted a comment about it to last week's event on Facebook and on here. I'm not going to be here this Sunday, but there will be practice. Check the Facebook event page for comments and updates. (I'll be creating the event sometime today)
