Let's get together again for an a hike near Castle Rock
DESCRIPTION : The five mile loop trail on Dawson Butte Open Space travels through mostly forested areas with open meadows and views of the Front Range Mountains. The trail follows gently rolling terrain. The trail also offers views of Pikes Peak, Dawson Butte, Devil’s Head, and the front range mountains as it meanders through the woods and scrub oak below the butte.
MEETING AREA - Let's meet a the trail head parking lot.
WHEN : 9:00 AM
WHAT TO BRING FOR YOU : This easy walkable trail system of a 5 mile loop. Bring water and any snacks you might want.
WHAT TO BRING FOR THE DOGS : Don't count on any water on the trail, bring plenty of water for your dog(s), snacks and poop bags. Dog must be on leash, and this is a multi-use horse trail so it's possible to meet horses on the trail.

LUNCH / SOCIAL TIME : Ice cream at Dairy Queen for a cool treat after our hike. To get there, go right on Plum Creek Pkwy exit in Castle Rock and then turn left onto Wilcox street for one block. It's on the right.
To find us, look for Frisco, he's our black, white and brown Australian Shepherd.
