Grasshoppers Fishing Fly-Out

Our local Flying Club, the Grasshoppers, are having their annual Fly-Out event in Montauk, LI this year for a half-day fishing event!  The best part is that they have invited the PPA members to attend!

Meet up at Montauk Airport and get a ride down to the pier for a quick ride out on the ocean for an easy fishing trip with fellow pilots!  All bait and tackle is provided for the trip, and anything you catch, you can keep and eat!

For more information, see the website below, or post your questions in the Comments section below!  Don't forget your sunscreen!

The aircraft I was going to take to KMTP is grounded - bad alternator. I am not sure that it will be back in service by next Saturday. This may be "no-go" for me...

Grasshoppers fishing fly out to Montauk (KMTP) is scheduled for August 16th (weather permitting). The plan is to catch the Lazybones fishing boat for the 1:00 P.M. sailing. The boat trip is 4 hours returning to the dock at 5:00 P.M. Kathy on the Lazybones [masked]) has requested that we be a the boat at 12:30 P.M. (buy tickets, etc.). The boat is $60.00 per person. Kathy also requested that we let her know of any cancellations as soon as possible. I have made 5 additional PPA member reservations with her.
The Pink Tuna taxi [masked]) from the airport to the Lazybones is approx. $20.00 each way. Last year we split that between the taxi riders.
The ramp parking a KMTP this year is $20.00 per plane. Helen Giles [masked]) at KMTP said she would give a discount for the fly out participants (not sure on amount). There is no fuel available at KMTP.
Pilots are responsible for their own weather briefings, "go - no go decision", navigation, planning, and expenses.

I have flown into KMTP before, and it is cool! Would be delighted to take 38E there (Unless Greg has it - psst, if I cannot reserve a plane that day, does anyone have two seats available?)
