June is here and we've been seeing hit-and-miss weather for flying. One day it's a perfect 72F and not a cloud in the sky, and then the rest of the week- rain! The good news is that the flying season is still young, and there are plenty of good flying days to be had!
Coming up this Saturday is our monthly BBQ at the Yellow Building on the Alpha Ramp. The weather is forecasted to rain all morning, then clear up in time to start up the grill in the early afternoon. And the temperature? A perfect 71F! So RSVP to the BBQ, bring family and friends, and enjoy the company of fellow aviation-minded people! There will be another "Safety Quiz" to challenge your aviation prowess!
The following weekend (June 15) is the much-anticipated Dutchess County Airport 2013 Open House. This event is shaping up to be a bigger event than last year! Military aircraft, a car show, Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, antique fire trucks, a kids bounce house, a police K-9 demo, numerous GA organizations, and many, many more displays have been arranged for this new annual event.
The PPA is providing a display of 4 aircraft and a table where we will be selling some PPA merchandise and taking new memberships. If you're interested in volunteering an hour or two of your time to support the PPA Table and Display, and discussing General Aviation to the visiting public, email me at [address removed] and I'll answer any questions you have. RSVP here if you plan on going!
