KPHX - Cutter Monthly Cookouts (Fly/Drive-In)

  • This location is shown only to members

Cutter Aviation at Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) welcomes our customers and friends from the local aviation community to join us every second Thursday of each month for our Monthly Cookout!

We welcome you to join us this month on the 2nd floor outdoor patio of the FBO building for hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings!

No matter if you are flying in or driving in, we’d love to have you as our guests for lunch! Beginning at 11:30am and going until around 1:30pm, our Cutter crew at PHX prepares and serves lunch for anyone who stops in! And best of all, it’s free!

You can fly-in, drive-in, or walk-in… most of our cookouts will be serving lunch on the 2nd floor outdoor patio under the Original PHX Control Tower at Cutter Aviation PHX.

If you are a General Aviation pilot from the local area and would like to just fly in to have lunch, see our facility, and perhaps brush up on your Class B Airport operations experience, just call our Company Frequency at[masked] when you pull in to the Cutter Aviation ramp and let them know you are here for lunch and which airport you flew in from… we’ll gladly waive the ramp fee for you!

We’re located at 2802 E. Old Tower Road, Phoenix, AZ 85034 (click for directions) and if you are flying in, give us a call at[masked] so we can get everything ready for you and your crew!

I swung by there and there was nothing going on up on the patio deck. A trip for nada. Was it CNX'd? If so, too bad we weren't advised.

Cutter canceled lunch at the last minute. I was in the air and called to let them know when I'd be there and they broke the news to us.

Yeah, thanks, Theresa. I'm not faulting any of our members. While I appreciate Cutter's efforts in the past, they must have known this was a non-event before the start time, since they had to dispatch folks to Cosco for food. However, how they could advise attendees, I dunno'. Certainly, it's therefore impossible to give the PPG Meetup members a heads-up. My opinion is, if you schedule an event, you run it. Hell, I'll man the grill in the cold & rain myself!

So do I just contact phoenix approach like I normally would if I was to just be transitioning the Bravo and they will tell me where they want me to sequence me in? Does anyone know as far as coming from the North?

I got the ATIS and then called up PHX APP on 123.7 (from the south) and said "Cessna five four two eight eight, VFR firebird lake, thirty five hundred feet with bravo for cutter aviation".

      Sounds reasonable to me :-)

I will be there. I will be the one with the biggest smile :)

Yeah I don't have one either. I'll probably be wearing my white In the Pattern Podcast shirt and a Navy Blue Boeing hat.

I do not have a PPG shirt, but look for Neil and I and say hi!

Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as getting sequenced in from PHX approach flying in from DVT?
