Agenda:

7:00 RightScale

RightScale is considered the on-ramp to Amazon's cloud. I think RightScale currently holds the record for the most amount of EC2 instances launced (over 200k). They have recently announced partnerships with GoGrid and Flexiscale. Rightscale has a vast amount of experience and knowledge of working with cloud customers. They were one of the earliest beta customers to work with the new Elastic Block Storage (persistent storage). This will be an extremely informative session for anyone working with a cloud or thinking about working with a cloud.

8:00 Q&A Session

In the last few cloud meetings the Q&A sessions were extremely informative. We have quite a few cloud experts in our little Atlanta niche. Adding the RightScale experts into the mix should make it even more interesting.

Bring your AWS hats and let's show the rest of the "Cloud" world that Hotlanta is no slouch when it comes to clouds.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow at the event! I will be presenting some generic cloud architecture concepts, talking some about the new EBS device from Amazon, and giving a demo of the RightScale platform and showing you all how we manipulate the clouds.

I'd also love to hear security conversations, especially related to SSO around Cloud Computing in the enterprise. Something along the lines of Ping Federate, myonelogin, SAML or similar.

Truly AWSome! This meetup group had the best bunch of cloud computing folks who really knew the subject inside out. It was a great discussion and even though I didnt contribute much to it by talking (I had never used Amazon EC2), it surely gave an adrenaline rush! Got myself an Amazon EC2 account and fired up a few instances today running Java Tomcat server(oops!) and had great fun learning the stack for just 30 cents! :)
