Welcome to the Ohio Objectivist Society (OOS) meetup! We are glad that you are interested in learning more about Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. The sections below contain general information about OOS meetups - please visit our official website at http://ohio.newintell... for more specific information about the OOS.
Hope to see you soon,
The Ohio Objectivist Society
What is Objectivism? Please visit our forum for a very brief overview of Objectivism.
Meetup OverviewOOS meetups play a key role by both finding Objectivists in Ohio and providing a place to discuss ideas to expand everyone's knowledge of Objectivism.
A Typical meetup will be posted long in advance to give everyone time to plan accordingly. Additionally, an agenda and recommended readings will be listed with the meetup agenda. The meetup organizer may also post additional information such as requests to bring food / drinks. On the day of the meetup when everyone arrives the format is usually a presentation and/or video followed by a general discussion.
What if there isn't a meetup scheduled in your area?Become an organizer and start one! The OOS can provide resources and knowledge to get your local Objectivism meetup off the ground. If you are interested hosting Objectivism meetups in your area please contact Matthew W. Yucha (myucha@ohio.newintellectuals.org) with your location and contact information.
If you are not interested in organizing a meetup of your own please stay subscribed to the OOS meetup group. We are actively working on adding more meetup locations to make OOS meetups geographically convenient for everyone.
What is the Ohio Objectivist Society? The Ohio Objectivist Society is a group of intellectuals, teachers, and business professionals from Ohio who believe most obstacles to individual happiness and prosperity in a society stem from human irrationality. We believe the way to counter irrationality is through an integrated understanding of reality, knowledge, ethics, and politics - which is the achievement of Ayn Rand via her philosophy of Objectivism. The OOS both teaches how to learn and apply Objectivism and acts as an organized resource for any individual inspired to learn more.
Our mission is to inspire culture to recognize and accept with uncompromising certainty that existence exists independent of personal whim, that reason is man’s only means of acquiring knowledge, that man’s life is his only standard of good, and that laissez-faire capitalism is the only ethical political system by teaching Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism.
I like the OOS mission and want to do more! Please contact Matthew W. Yucha (myucha@ohio.newintellectuals.org) with your location and contact information. Also, if you haven't already please register on our main website at:
