Recent surveys show Arizona as #2 in 2012 new solar implementation and installation. At the same time, there is serious concern in the solar equipment industry regarding government and utility action that may adversely impact the industry and even the continuing growth of solar use.
The current situation in Arizona, and in other states as well, brings to mind the familiar phrase, "It was the best of times and the worst of times."
Amidst this dichotomy is the simple fact that renewable energy, and solar in particular, is a beneficial and sustainable resource in Arizona's evolving energy palette.
You are invited to an evening with noted solar professional Lane Garrett, who has been in the "trenches" of business establishment in the fledgling solar industry. He also has experience in research and development of solar applications, educating a generation of solar professionals and constructing his own home incorporating passive and active solar strategies.
Lane's lecture covering solar in Arizona over time is full of information pertinent to all who have an interest in incorporating this plentiful and sustaining resource into their lives - with physical examples and strategies; and to those interested in understanding the current status of solar implementation and support; and to all interested in where Arizona is evolving in the solar, renewable energy and sustainable energy arena.
The sun is an amazing resource, and the most democratic- it falls on all equally and provides a readily accessible energy source for anybody to use. The technology and expertise is readily available, in-place, and fully functioning. Arizona's energy future is bright. Join in the presentation and discussion with Lane Garrett in how Arizona's solar and RE future will continue to evolve.
This is the first lecture of a string of lectures put on by the Arizona Solar Center, Inc., (an Arizona nonprofit collaborative that grew out of the Governor's Solar Energy Advisory Council) and the Arizona Solar Energy Association (State Chapter of the National American Solar Energy Society) under the auspices of the City of Scottsdale Green Building Program.
