Solar Lecture Series: Solar & Sustainability - My Way, with Geoff Sutton

Solar isn't just that piece of equipment on the roof - it is much, much more, and we can find it in a number of elements of our lives. The Solar - My Way series is an exposure to the many facets of solar and sustainability and the variety of what it means to be “solar and sustainable."

This presentation is also an excellent precursor to the upcoming 2013 Valley of the Sun Solar Tour on October 26 & 27.

Geoff Sutton is one who leads a multi-faceted solar and sustainable life. He is recognized by many audiences, public and professional, as highly knowledgeable through his participation in many arenas related to sustainability.

Come join Geoff as he shares his experiences and insights in his personal excursion in the professional and personal world that is solar and sustainability.

Geoff's various involvements and efforts include:

-- Manager of the Arizona Solar Center's Solar Hot Water Heating Quality Control efforts
-- Design and installation with a recognized solar PV company
-- Energy performance inspections for Arizona buildings
-- Knowledgeable expert in national and global energy resources and renewable energy role in that sector
-- Design, construction, and monitoring of his own passive and active system residences including a ground source system for heating and cooling
-- Speaker and presenter at national conferences and forums, regarding solar hot water installation practices and problems
-- Solar hot water heating specialist/educator in recent utility Qualified Solar Installer programs aimed at quality performance of the industry
-- Inventor and researcher/developer of improved equipment and safety in solar
-- Contributor and author of upcoming AzSC solar publications for the consumer; municipal inspectors, and the solar trades
-- Living the solar and sustainable life - raising both food and chickens as well.

Attendance at Solar Lecture Series Events is free, no reservation needed.

Location - City of Scottsdale Granite Reef Senior Center
just north of the intersection of Granite Reef Road and McDowell Rd. in south Scottsdale.

While this session is directed towards the general public, professionals are encouraged to attend as well because of the depth and breadth of information from the speaker.

The Living With the Sun - Arizona Style lectures are an activity of the Arizona Solar Center, Inc. (www.azsolarcenter.org); with support from the Arizona Solar Energy Association (State Chapter of ASES) and under the auspices of the City of Scottsdale Green Building Program.

    Plan on attending! Exciting times for solar energy in Arizona. Just wait till energy storage systems come down in cost enough and electric rates go up. Off grid in the city may be in our future.
