July lecture of the Living With the Sun - Az. Style series. This is a continuation of the May lecture on Water Harvesting by Don Titmus.
Solar and sustainability is more than those pieces of equipment on the roof. The site, landscaping, and resource smart usage are a critical part of the equation in living in a desert condition.
This presentation will be a detailed look at the Bee Oasis, a Permacultured homesite in Mesa, AZ. Don will share his conscious, natural living practice, by walking the talk and inspiring others to do likewise. Topics include growing food, harvesting rain, reducing energy, integrating livestock, teaching children, and much more.
Don Titmus, a horticulturalist for 37 years and a Valley Permaculturalist for 8 years, brings his experience and recognized expertise to this talk. He has designed and implemented a Permaculture homesite in Mesa, Arizona, with extensive water harvesting and distribution applications. Don's knowledge has been shared through numerous tours and educational workshops and classes in extensive water, storage, and applications, as the primary teacher of the East Valley Permaculture Guild and of the 72 hr. Permaculture Design Course.
The program is free and open to the public; no reservations are needed.
