What's This Do? (Camera Basics Workshop)

This workshop will focus on getting to know your camera and stepping away from AUTO mode. We will cover the basics of exposure and learning how to use the 3 factors of exposure (ISO, Aperture, Shutterspeed) to get the most out of your DSLR or point and shoot. More details to come.

Thank you Jose and Norm. It was a pleasure meeting you both during the DSLR 101 session. I greatly appreciate the knowledge and the helpfulness you both brought to the table. Looking forward to the next meeting

Presenters were fantastic about covering every last detail and particularly about making sure every last question was answered. This was my first meeting and I hope there are more like this!

Good for a newbie to DSLR to attend. I have a little more of an understanding of the things I can change that will affect the end result of my photo.

    Hi folks!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring you cameras and instruction manual!
Also, please reply to this message ASAP with exactly which camera you have.
    Ex: Nikon D4; Canon 7DII; Sony A99

That way I can try to make sure we have an electronic copy of your owners manual on an iPad for easy reference.

    Thanks, Norm

I have another meetup at 1-5, so may or may not attend this one. Will either leave this one early or get to the other one late. Luckily they're not too far from each other. I've been taking photos since the 70's so am familiar with SLR workings, but the complicated abilities of my digital SLR are still somewhat a mystery to me. I have a Canon 50D.

Dear members, the handbook I decided to print for tomorrow's workshop turned out to be more expensive than I anticipated. While I would love to provide everyone with free copies, I just can't justify it.

If you want one of the copies, I'll be happy to give you one in exchange for what it cost me to print, $7 each. If you don't want to do that, that's fine, and I'll keep the handbook so we can reuse it/them for future classes."

Hi folks, just a reminder to check your emails. I sent out an email last week to those on RSVP list and have only received 2 replies.

Marilyn, it's possibly it got lost in spam or sorted into a folder if you use a sorting app on your email account. Email basically stated some information for this meetup. Send me an email from the account you would like me to reply to and I'll forward information to you. [masked]

Ok folks, we will be allowed to use the Fox and Hound for this meetup. Being that it is a Sunday some may not be able to attend, we ask that you please update your RSVP in order to make room for those on the wait list. There will be experienced Canon and Nikon users at this Meetup but we ask that you still bring your manuals. If you are not a Canon or Nikon user, no worries this is a beginner lesson so camera make will not be an issue anyway.

We only have the space at Fox and Hound for part of the day but we will do this type of meetup again as soon as we can secure a venue so keep your eyes open for next meetup.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
