Group host & race director at Aravaipa Running.
I've been running for 13 years. I've completed over 40 ultra marathons over the past 7 years including the Western States 100, Hardrock Hundred Mile, Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon, and the Mogollon Monster 106 Mile.
My favorite trails in the Phoenix area include Mesquite Canyon Trail in the White Tank Mountains, Pass Mountain at Usery, Sunrise Trail in the McDowells, National Trail at South Mountain, Goldmine Trail at San Tan, and Skull Mesa near Cave Creek.
I love the Mizuno Wave Musha.
I'm going to try and come out for some group runs when I'm down in the valley. I'd really like to see if folks would like to get out into the mountains of southern Arizona this winter for some long runs. See ya soon.
Thanks Jamil! I look forward to meeting you and your crew.
Hi Jamil, I'm looking to meet some runners to train with. I'm still mostly interested in running races on the road but would love to get onto some trails periodically! I figured this group looked like the place to check out! I'll try to make a run some time soon.
Hi Jamil, Check out the Gladiator Rock n Run coming to Phoenix on the 19th! Use promo code GLAD10 for $10 off registration for you and your members.
Thanks - I didn't realize echo canyon was Camel Back (climbed it when I was a dumb teenager) Loooong time ago.
I'm looking to fit a quick 5-7mi trail run in between boring meetings. - so I'll check it out, looks like it's only 10 miles from Montelucia.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Jamil - I live in the Carolinas and will be attending a conference near Echo Canyon. I don't know if I'll be able to slip away for a trail run, but is Echo Canyon a good spot? It looks cool from Google Maps.
I'm used to running switchbacks over roots and in the mud and in 90 humidity - so some dry terrain would be a nice break. Any insights would be appreciated.
