Book #3: _The Collector_ by John Fowles

Our next book:

The Collector by John Fowles

Location to be announced.  Sounds like a great book!

Hailed as the first modern psychological thriller, The Collector is the internationally bestselling novel that catapulted John Fowles into the front rank of contemporary novelists. This tale of obsessive love--the story of a lonely clerk who collects butterflies and of the beautiful young art student who is his ultimate quarry--remains unparalleled in its power to startle and mesmerize.

Unless I can find a "theme" to play with - I'd love to go back to Slyce. Am loving the book too!

Really wish I could attend this one ... I read the book so long ago I could probably use a "refresher" - but I do remember that it's one of my "all-time great" favorites - enjoy!!

Welcome! And yes, cyberfool is correct - the ending will be the hot topic. Hope it doesn't spoil it for you!

We're pretty relaxed. We often break into smaller groups amongst our larger group and sometimes use the book as loose commonality. I'm pretty low-key about that sort of stuff. Having said that, this book did initially get to me for the first day or so after I finished.. I'd love to get other people's impressions. Hope you stop by!

So... one of our members found it too disturbing to finish... I am now more curious about this book! I'm waiting for Amazon to ship it..... Hope you don't mind that I change the start time..
