The Three Mile Creek Trail #635 heads northwest into the Arapaho National Forest and Mt Evans Wilderness area through beautiful shady forest with lots of stream crossings, mostly on narrow split log bridges. This is a moderate 6.6 mile in and out hike with about 1000 feet of elevation gain.
Carpool: Meet at The Fort at 8am - the parking lot is located off US285 at the CO8 Morrison/Evergreen Exit. We'll form carpools here.
Directions: From the Denver area, take US 285 west for about 40 miles to the small town of Grant. Turn right onto CR 62 (Guanella Pass Road) and continue north for 2.8 miles. The trailhead is on the right. Be aware that this stretch of CR 62 is a rough dirt road. While most cars should have no problem, a 4-wheel drive vehicle might not be a bad idea.
Drive southwest from Denver on US 285 approximately 40 miles to Grant. Turn right (north) onto Park County 62 (towards Guanella Pass), and drive 2.8 miles to the trailhead on the right (east) side of the road. There is a limited amount of parking at the trailhead.
Optional lunch after the hike at a nearby restaurant.
See you there!
