CANCELLED Due To Weather - reviewed NWS, CDOT, etc. and it's currently raining, the roads are wet and the humidity level has increased to 70% chance of thunderstorms. Herman Lake is s moderately difficult trail of 6+ miles roundtrip and 1600+ feet of elevation gain. Starting elevation is 10,332 climbing to almost 12,000 feet. It's located north of Bakerville, CO in the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forest. It lies in the open tundra of a capacious valley just below the Continental Divide.
Directions to Trail: The trailhead is located .1 mile north of exit #218 from I-70. It's located between Bakerville, CO and the Eisenhower Tunnel. From westbound I-70, exit #218 and bear right (east) on the short service road that dead-ends at the Herman Gulch Trailhead. There's a bathroom at the trailhead.
Carpooling: Meet at Wooly Mammoth, Section CC where we'll form some carpools. The parking lot is located on I-70 West at Exit 259. We'll leave the parking lot at 7am.
