Tired of Snow? Me Too! And the Rollinsville forecast for Thursday isn't looking that great - only 32 degrees and slick roads. So rather than wait until the last minute, I'm changing the location today to a closer trail. We may have to deal with temps in the 40's and possible rain/snow mix, but it won't be as bad. Could be a little muddy, so bring your micro spikes and dress for the ever changing weather!
Easy 5+ mile hike at Mathews/Winters Open Space Park with less than 600 feet of elevation gain. Village Walk to Red Rocks Trail to Morrison Slide and back on the Red Rocks Trail - easy close-in hike!
Direction to Trail: From I-70 or US Highway 40, go south on Colorado Highway 26 approximately 0.1 mile and turn at the park entrance.
Optional refreshment after the hike at a nearby restaurant TBD.
See you there!
