The Spruce Creek Trail is a nice easy/moderate 4 mile snowshoe with around 700 feet of elevation gain through a snowy evergreen forest. At the Wheeler Junction there are great views of the surrounding peaks. Trail could be more moderate depending on the amount of snow.
Carpooling: Meet at 8:30am at Wooly Mammoth Parking Lot, Section CC where we'll form some carpools. The lot is located off Interstate 70 West, Exit 259.
Important: Make sure your carpool has the same plan as you - some of us are staying the weekend to participate in the Romp to Stomp (see posting).
Optional lunch after the snowshoe at the Breckenridge Brewery located in Breckenridge.
Directions to the Trailhead: Drive south out of Breckenridge on US Highway 9. At about 2.4 miles turn right on to Spruce Creek Rd. and proceed for about 1.2 miles to the well marked parking area and trailhead.
