Pine Valley Open Space and the Buffalo Creek Trail System offer miles of trails near the Pike National Forest. Between the two areas, we'll hike an easy/moderate 6 miles round trip beginning from the Pine Valley Open Space parking lot. We'll follow the Narrow Gauge Trail and connect with the Buck Gulch Trail hiking into the Pike National Forest where we'll follow the Skipper Trail to Charlie's Cutoff, the Homestead Trail and the Strawberry Jack Trail. We'll finish the hike back into the Pine Valley Open Space on the Park View Trail which is a short, but steep descent on very well maintained stairs. It then levels out with scenic views of the Baehr Lodge.
Optional Lunch at 12 noon after the hike at Zoka's Restaurant and Bar in Pine. Check it out http://www.zokas.com/
