Moderate to Difficult 6+ mile hike with 1000+ feet of elevation gain.  We may hike or if there's enough snow, we'll snowshoe Mt. Falcon on the Turkey Trot Trail to the Castle Trail.  It's about 3 miles to the top of the hill and the picnic shelter.  We'll stop here for a few minutes then hike another .3 miles up Walker's Dream Trail to the Summer White House Site - a good place to take pictures and look out west at the peaks and east for miles and miles.  Then we'll head back down for a total round trip of roughly 6 miles. Dogs are welcome!

Watch the weather and dress for the weather.  If in doubt, bring a small duffle bag with all your options!  Always bring extra layers, a warm wind/moisture resistant jacket, gloves, hat, neck gaiter, poles, snowshoes, micro spikes and whatever else you need to make this an enjoyable experience. Please - No cotton or jeans for winter hikes.

Direction to the East access:  Located at 3852 Vine Street in Morrison, CO  80465.

From Denver, take I-70 to the C-470 Exit.  Travel south on C-470 to the town of Morrison.  Go right into downtown Morrison on Main Street.  Go left at CO 8 at the end of Morrison town and travel 1.6 miles to Forest Avenue.  Turn right on Forest Avenue and follow the signs for Mount Falcon Open Space. Large parking lot with bathrooms.

Parking:    This lot seems to fill up early and fast, so good idea to carpool from your location, if possible.

Optional Lunch after the hike at the Blue Cow in Morrison - open for suggestions.

Nice photos, everyone. Always a good close-in hike that manages to get the heart pounding out of one's chest in a couple of spots.
