Each year, blank canvasses of snow become works of art. From a whimsical bouquet of enormous flowers, to thought provoking abstract shapes, sculptors form these masterpieces before thousands of spectators over the course of five days in the heart of town. Let's check them out just as they're finished. We'll browse the sculptures, do a little shopping and then meet for lunch around 12:00 noon. After lunch, head home or browse more shops! Carpooling: Meet at 8am at the Wooly Mammoth PnR, Section CC (across from the Conoco Station) where we'll form some carpools. The parking lot is located at I70 West & Morrison, Exit 259. Add a note to your RSVP (not the comments below) if you'll meet there to carpool so I'll know to expect you at 8am.
Parking in Breckenridge: Look for signs directing you to various parking lots or find a space on the street. Allow enough time to meet the group by 10am.
Weather: This is a high alpine environment so please come prepared for cold weather. It could be warm and sunny or very cold, so dress in layers and bring extra warm clothes, gloves, hat and high traction boots.
Optional Lunch at the Breckenridge Brewery around 11:30-12noon. They don't take reservations so I'll take a count and call ahead. Add a note to your RSVP (not the comments below) if you want to join us for lunch.
