To start off, check this out:

and #2

I just had to know about the music from #1 and discovered it's "Rusholm with Love" by Mint Royal.

As mentioned elsewhere, Chris has a meetup group also - The Pacific Palisades Tolle Group: http://www.meetup.com...

edited to add: Since I originally posted this, we've had conversation & I can tell you this is a person of patience and kindness! Say hello if you see him at a future event!

What a kick! And a sweetheart of a guy! When I saw this photo, it was about the time my younger son was giving up finding parking in K-Town and went to riding a motorcycle. Natch, I wanted good advice about a helmet (was planning to give the kid one for Christmas...) and I consulted with this guy:

Lots of fun and willing to drive good-naturedly from all the way out Santa Clarita way! Yes - there's great stuff out there & one day, I'll do something in that beautiful area!

Those are truly fascinating. It's amazing what different creative things our members do. Boomers are surprising creatures. I bet there's plenty of other surprises lurking out there. Hmmm....

Boomers can be amazingly "can-do", will-do, won't do, why do. There are many who shut the door after day is done and then there are others that refuse to quit. I like to think I'm kinda cool, but I haven't done my best stuff - yet

I am pleased to spotlight Karen!

This is the Karen I wrote about in the Bandera Recap - yes! The Marathon Woman! Finished the whole thing – despite an injured ankle. I'm bowing as I type (It's a rare talent, I know.)

Karen emailed after reading the recap:

"… I finished the L.A Marathon and had a great time doing it!!! I would love to encourage all Baby Boomers to get out and challenge themselves. Age is just a number and does not define what we can achieve. "

I thought that was a great quote to inspire us (like many in our member intros along these lines!), told her so & she said (conveniently giving me another quote!)

"Go ahead and use my quote any time. I truly believe it and use it everyday in my practice as a Certified Nutritionist. I work with men and women in all age groups. My goal and greatest pleasure is help people live a healthier lifestyle. Growing older does not mean we are going to gain weight, have high BP, high cholesterol, diabetes or other diseases associated with aging. Proper nutrition and moving more goes a long way!!!"

Karen has expressed her appreciation so generously and personally, although we've only exchanged a few moments, I feel certain this is one beautiful lady inside and out – let's all hope she brings that friendly smile to more events in our near future…

Thanks for the inspiration, Karen
