Hi Everyone:

The Burgundy Room is proposing the following menu (served family style) for our Feb 20 meeting.

Tapas selections and 8-10 wines ($40/person plus tax, and 18% gratuity bringing the total to about $50 per person)

1. Fried Calamari with a Thai Dipping Sauce
2. Smoked Chicken Ravioli with Prosciutto, Capers, Garlic and Cream
3. Tuna Tartar in Ginger Wasabi Dressing with Wonton Chips
4. Warm Hummus with Tomato, Cucumbers and Feta
5. Beef Carpaccio with Classic Aioli, Capers, Parmesan and Flatbread
6. Pulled Duck Leg Confit with Cheese Tortellini
7. Selection of Seasonal Cheese with Preserved Fruits and Crackers
8. Chef?s Daily tapas feature

I have posted a poll to get everyones input regarding this at:
http://wine.meetup.co...

Please voice your vote and I'll bring the results back to the management at the Burgundy Room. Please also note that the option for Tapas and wine at less than $30 per person may not be possible without changing the venue from the Burgundy Room (the Wine Shoppe in Dublin is a possible alternative). I am working on negotiating final prices now with the Burgundy Room.

Thanks,

Related, I was thinking of organizing something a little less formal (at a little less cost) that might occur more frequently (bi-weekly). Any suggestions for locations?

Ben/Kurt: The Wine Shoppe in Dublin is a real option. I've spoken with the owner, Bob Monica, and he is willing to open up his tasting room on Tuesday nights (capacity 50 folks, with a built-in full service wine bar) for $10-$15.00 per person for 5-6 selected wines (tasting only, no food); and for $25.00 per person for 6 wines and a hot & cold appetizer buffet (gourmet pizza, hummus, olives, cheese plate, veggies, and skewers of roasted chicken. Details are at www.thewineshoppe.com The Wine Shoppe. There is no room charge or guaranteed minimums, so this should make a nice option. We are also investigating the possibility of alternate sites like Jason's in old Dublin. I'll keep you posted.
