Hi All:
The meet-up wine dinner tonight at Tutto Vino was excellent. The 3-course meal was very good, and was paired with 3 superb wines. Our dinner tonight was a negotiated rate for a "family-style" dinner, for which I have to give a hard number to the restaurant to prepare meals for. I have learned in the past not to confirm for more than 70 to 80% of "yes" RSVPs. Last night we had 33 RSVPs and I confirmed 70% (24) to the restaurant. We had only 13 folks show up tonight. This is a 39% show rate of confirmed RSVPs, the worst we have ever had. I know that several folks changed their RSVPs from "yes" to "no" during the day today, but I had already confirmed a number for tonights meal 24 hours in advance.

If those who RSVPd "yes" and didn't attend don't step up, tomorrow I will have pay for 11 of your dinners. Raj, the owner and manager of Tutto Vino, has graciously agreed to charge only for his cost for wasted food, or $15 per person.

If you RSVPd "yes" for tonight's meal and did not attend, I am asking you to call (614) 799-9222 and give Raj a credit card for a $15 charge. Otherwise, I have agreed to be responsible for paying for your meal myself, as Tutto Vino lost a lot of money on our group tonight.

Based on the turn-out tonight (and for several of our previous dinners), I will be changing future formats to "pay-as-you-go" and we will be ordering off the menu. This will result in slightly higher prices, but will keep me from having to cover the cost of no-shows, or having to divide the cost of no-shows among those of us attending.

Please call me if you have questions or suggestions.

Thanks for your understanding in this matter. We want to be able to continue to enjoy these dinners while supporting our worthy charities (tonight's 501 c3 charity was the injured Marine Fund)

Next meetup will be Jason's in Worthington. Details to follow.

Best regards,

Steve Petrosino
