An Austin area Meetup group that is dedicated to multi-day backpacking trips.

We will start off with conditioning hikes on the greenbelt and some easy overnight trips to the state parks.
The goal is to encourage backpacking and to grow our outdoor skills together so that we can take longer trips to Colorado or New Mexico.

If you love the outdoors and are interested in doing more than day hikes, we hope you will sign up for Austin Backpackers.

All skill levels are welcome here.

Let's see if we can't assemble a group of committed, fun loving backpackers to get us all out on the trail more often.

    "Thanksgiving night camp. It started raining just after I set up the tent at dusk and stopped raining at dawn...which is why I brought my 2 person Double Rainbow Tarptent for more room inside that night. the extra room was worth the extra 14oz."
