Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro

Dear fellow backpackers

We are considering organising a group trek to Mt Kilimanjaro for 10-15 amateur mountaineers/trekkers in the second half of September. Please let me know in case you might be interested in joining. Basic information given below.

Option 1: Marangu Route

Most popular way to summit, 5 day trek - ascent+descent

Time needed: 7 days in Tanzania, so ~9 days including the flights.

Cost estimate: Expected to be around INR 1.4L for local arrangements + INR 50-60K on airfare, ie total including visas, insurance etc would be of the order of INR 2.1L per person

Option 2: Lemosho Route

Least used but most exciting, 7 day trek - ascent+descent

Time needed: 9 days in Tanzania, so ~11 days including the flights

Cost estimate: Expected to be around INR 1.7L + INR 50-60K on airfare, ie total including visas, insurance etc would be of the order of 2.4L per person.

If seriously interested, please google info about the different routes and their pros and cons. We have not yet decided which route to take and this could depend on group majority .. so happy to hear your views!

Cheers!

Ankur

Dear all, nice to see a few people already interested! It would be great if we could all meet up and take this further. I suggest Friday 5th July evening 7pm or Saturday 6th July afternoon 3pm in Kunzum Travel Cafe, Hauz Khas Village. Will send an email to the interested members to check which option works better.
