Why do you think you should be a member of the bunch?

I am looking for others to do multiday backpacking trips with. I am up for adventures throughout Oregon for 2-3 day trips (or more). I also take a week long backpacking trip out of state each year for an epic. I currently am a member of the Bend Adventure Group and Bend Hiking Group, but most of the members are into day hikes instead of overnights. When no one else rallies, I frequently do solo trips (with my dog Ned) but would like to find more like minded folks like myself. I have been streamlining my gear towards ultralight, however I don't expect I'll be shooting for true ultralight status. So far, it seems my weekend summer weight has become in the range of around 35 lbs in, and 29 lbs hiking out. I also enjoy overnight ski tours, especially when tele turns are in the agenda.

Woud you be willing to organize backpacking outings?

What's the best memorable backpacking trip you have done and why?

Probably last years 6 night trip into the Wind Rivers. The weather was dramatically stormy throughout the trip, but I managed to capture the awesome beauty with well over 125 pictures. We moved camp all but one day so we were able to see a lot of terrain. There is still so much more to see there I want to go back ASAP!

I have spent much of my free time backpacking since I was 17 years old. I love the experience of taking off with all you need in your pack and immersing yourself in the wilderness for days on end. Trail running and skiing are other favorites.
