I'm interested in sharing my love of backpacking and wilderness with others.
Well first off I enjoy backpacking. Second, I'm just plain curious what the dynamics will be like in a smaller group like this rather than a 1000+ members group. I'm thinking that a smaller group may suit me better....but who knows.
Yes, I'd be interested. I actually have some experience leading backpacking trips.
That's a tough one. One of the most memorable was a solo trip in the three sisters wilderness, with one night spent at the summit of the South Sister. It was a spiritual experience for me that I'll never forget.

Hi Pat, thanks for your messages. I still haven't figured out how to respond directly through meetup, so I will post here. Yes you are correct. For this circle being able to prepare and preparing are essential. For the usual circles, that are just journey circles and not rituals, you would certainly be welcome. We always have a huge range of experience levels. I look forward to seeing you at our next journey circle or shaman talk.
Poor baby, Pat!!! That's about as Authentic as it gets, I'd say. Glad you survived - we'll through some food down there for you in the next few weeks.
Hi Pat, what do you think about another trip up Mt Hood this time of year in a few weeks. Dena and me did it the other day but maybe we were a bit brash to do it. I never felt that it was dangerous but I know that we should of been back down by 10 at the latest now. That ground was like shaved ice after we got below the chute (pearly Gates?) Can't say I had fun but I will do it again!
I hope your willing to guide us up. I need to learn a lot more about this stuff. U Tube only goes so far!
Look at you: nimble log walker with heavy pack. What'd you drink that morning - the other gallon of Windex? :) Great action shot.
Those rattlesnake pictures are extraordinary! I hope it was the lense that got you that close and not your legs...thanks for posting them.
