School opportunity (Middle or High school

Nicole Grether and Charmaine Reid are Internationally ranked badminton players and have played in the Olympics in 2000 and 2004

They will be in North Carolina May 28-31 and are available to go to schools to motivate kids about badminton and about life. They are available for up to half a day per school and here are the parameters.

The school contact should be a motivated teacher (PE or other) who will be the contact for the school and who will work with local badminton 'keeners' to set up at least one badminton court in advance. If you have kids in high school or middle school (players or wannabees) who will help that is great.

A modest tax deductible donation to help defray expenses would be great but is not mandatory. Three of the six W/Th/Fr slots are spoken for so timing is important.

Here is more background on both players:

Nicole Grether: went to the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, Uber (World Women's Team Event) Bronze medalist, Silver medalist at the European Champions, 27 national titles
Charmaine Reid: 2004 Olympian, Gold medalist at the Pan American Games, 5 time National Champion, World Master doubles winner, singles silver
Competed in over 50 countries. Nicole and Charmaine have been playing doubles together since 2008 and qualified for the World Super Series Finals 2 times.

As a Health and Physical Education instructor Lisa Ward has done this sort of thing in the past at her school with Kevin Han (US Olympian 2004) and Howard Bach and Tony Gunawan (World Champions) with amazing results.

You can contact Lisa with questions or a school interest at [address removed], or me at [address removed]
