Let's Meetup and Play More Games!

Let's try smaller groups (so we can hear, lol) which means more people will have to bring games OR we can keep it the way it's been. No rules, just have fun like we usually do.

Hello all, sorry I didn't get to meet the new-comers last night, I left because I was feeling poorly. I wanted to address an issue presented on the page feedback: Jerry's has been a very gracious host to us by providing a large room with tables and a server to take care of us at no cost. I don't go to Jerry's for the dining experience (yes, the food is some times off, whose isn't?), I go to play games. This is my neighborhood, so I am very familiar with all of the establishments, I have checked them all out as possible locations. For the immediate future we will continue to meet at Jerry's to play games. If you prefer to have dinner elsewhere beforehand there are numerous options to the immediate north and south, ask and I'm happy to give you my review. Hoping you all have a fabulous week, and a great holiday weekend!
P.S.Our next meetup will be 9/20 or 9/27/14 depending on availability. Namaste y'all!

Zen West doesn't have parking and the drinks and food cost a lot more. I don't think they have a separate room or area where we cold gather. It's loud and dark and I think the food is not good at all. So why Zen West?

    It's about 10 feet from Jerry's

Wow, these are some fun sounding games...if everyone bringing games could list them the day before or morning of (Saturday) people could check the list before they come to get an idea of what's available to play. Looking forward to seeing everyone and having fun!

Sorry, a little late - took forever to figure out if my schedule was clear.

    I'll be bringing 2 games.

'Betrayal at House on the Hill'
I brought this last time but it didn't get a turn.

Players work together exploring a haunted mansion, drawing tiles to build the board. Good and bad things happen based on the tiles drawn. When enough bad things happen and a bad 'haunt check' dice roll occurs, the game changes. One of the players is chosen based on a chart of who/what/when/where etc. happened during this game.
That player becomes the traitor and a scenario is told and the players must make do with what they have to try to win their objective as the 'traitor' or as the 'heroes'.

and 'Clue - Discover the Secrets'
Which is like normal clue/cluedo but has some extra twists (such as the possibility[rare] of dieing before the end of the game)

Denise, we play a lot of board games at work and one of them is Hmm...ble game. I love it and so do my residents. I guess you are going to bring it if not I will try to get it. We also have password like the game show, senior moments ( a memory game), life stories, 2 truths and a lie which can last a little long and it involves a lot of thought, but can be fun. Just let me know. I do love hmm...ble and password.

Hi, looking forward to it again. Can't wait to see everyone. YAY!!!

It was very hard to hear at the last event and that really put a damper on the games but I don't think we necessarily have to have smaller groups, just set the tables up to accommodate better. Plus games just don't work with too many players. So if we know what games will be there or have a board or list or something I think it would be more organized. For some games, such as Pictionary, the more the better.
I'll bring Humble and ID, and I'll let you know what else. Both are cooperative-play games, like Pictionary. Humm...ble is an old game no longer in production, because the manufacturer didn't get permission to use the songs. I copied descriptions of these games as most people are not familiar with either.

      Humm...ble:
"You don't have to be Mozart to win this musical game! All you need is a love for music and the memories of your favorite songs. This party game is played in teams, like charades. Players may hum, whistle or act out the song titles. No singing allowed! There are 1,250 song titles to guess in five categories as players move along the game board path. The music categories are Broadway musicals, Folk & Family Favorites, Oldies, T.V. & Movies and Contemporary. Be the first team to reach the last Humm For All square and correctly identify the final song to win! A fun game for young and old alike! For two or more teams of two or more players."
