Watch Anime About People Who Make Manga

I thought I would do a sampler of anime this time.  I finally got Comic Party, and want to have a small sampling of similar anime.

First off is Comic Party 1 - 3.  Sendou Kazuki is a third year in high school, taking it easy, because he has already passed the college entrance exams. One day, he is invited by Kuhonbutsu Taishi to go to a "Fan-Comic Convention". There he hopelessly falls for the world of doujinshi (fanzines), and starts drawing and publishing his own. Comic Party is a comedy that parodies manga, anime, and even american comics.

Next is Dojin Work 1 - 3.  Najimi Osana is exposed to the doujin world and is tempted to become an artist after seeing how much one of her friends can make at a convention. Najimi loves to draw, though soon learns, contrary to what she expected, that this new world is anything but easy. As she attends more conventions and meets more people, Najimi eventually manages to find a group of very interesting friends. These friends already have some experience in the field and help her out along the way so that she can someday make a name for herself creating doujinshi.

Bakuman:  Top classmate Akito is willing to do anything to become a hit writer in the Japanese comic industry, including manipulating his unsure classmate ,Mashiro, into becoming his artist.  Before long, the pair have their backs against the wall, fighting for a chance to get noticed in the intense world of manga publishing.  But then, an unlikely event puts them face-to-face with what real comic artists have to give up:  love, health, and maybe even their futures.

We will watch them in order of Dojin Work, Bakumon, Comic Party.

Have to change the date to August 22. I'm at Baltimore Comic Con the weekend of the 8th selling my stuff.

Shawn, could the missing anime you're talking about be Bakuman? I haven't watched it myself, since I heard it's kind of misogynistic, but it is definitely about 2 dudes trying to become mangaka.

I love the first season. I have to admit I haven't watched the second yet.

Maybe I am mixing it up with another show. I thought Bakuman had a few scenes where the characters said that girls who were too smart weren't attractive, but it's been a while so my memory is probably wrong.
